The Start Of Eclipse Lighting and Grip

First off, we'd like to express our gratitude as a Louisville Lighting and Grip company. We've been incredibly fortunate to serve the dynamic Kentucky market and extend our reach to every neighboring region. This journey, filled with stories of innovation and growth, has led us to where we are today. But let's get more personal. Hey, I'm Cameron Becht, and I'd like to take you on a journey through the origins of Eclipse Lighting and Grip.

Our story begins approximately four years ago when I had the pleasure of connecting with a gentleman named Allen Wilson. Our paths crossed, and I was introduced to his creative hub, "Hype Studios," situated at 1505 Portland Ave. At that juncture, I was deeply entrenched in my music video phase, regularly capturing the essence of artists' talents and creating small-scale commercials. The memory of a particular moment stands out, when I eagerly popped open my car trunk to reveal my Arri Alexa Classic – a camera that's earned its stripes over the years. If you're a fellow cinephile, you'll understand the significance of that moment.

Allen and I initiated a conversation that would lay the foundation for something extraordinary. Our discussion led us to a pivotal question that would later become a catalyst for our shared creative journey. Allen asked me, "If you could create anything, what would you create?" It was during this conversation that a single track, "Back When (1997)" by DROELOE, played in the background. That song triggered a cascade of visuals in my mind, offering a glimpse into the uncharted territories of artistic expression. Although I never got around to creating that particular vision, this chance encounter in my car set the stage for much more to unfold.

Following this initial meeting, life took me down an unpredictable and chaotic path, replete with highs and lows. Years passed, and once again, destiny brought me back to Hype Studios. This second encounter with Allen reignited our creative spark. An idea that had previously taken root between us began to gain momentum. For some time, I had been contemplating the idea of establishing a rental house – a place where fellow creatives and filmmakers could access the tools they needed. Allen seemed like the perfect partner to bring this vision to life.

Our journey officially commenced when we launched Eclipse with a single SkyPanel S60 just over a year ago. Since that humble beginning, we've grown our fleet to include five vehicles, expanding our reach and offerings to meet the needs of a diverse clientele. This journey, while marked by significant milestones and achievements, has not been without its fair share of challenges.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic presented us with unprecedented hurdles, testing our resilience and adaptability. The entertainment industry, which we are an integral part of, was heavily impacted by lockdowns, restrictions, and safety concerns. It required us to rethink our strategies and pivot in response to a changing landscape.

Furthermore, the actors' strike further complicated the landscape of our industry. Negotiations, disagreements, and uncertainty loomed large, challenging us to find ways to continue supporting our clients and the broader creative community during these challenging times.

As if navigating through the challenges of the pandemic and labor strikes weren't enough, we faced the inherent difficulties of operating within a relatively small market. While this presented unique challenges, it also offered opportunities for us to be agile and innovative, allowing us to develop niche expertise and cultivate close relationships with our clients.

Through the ups and downs, we've weathered storms, learned valuable lessons, and emerged stronger. Our partnership has deepened over time, evolving into a robust and dynamic business relationship. We've come a long way from that first meeting, where a chance conversation in a car sparked a vision.

Our journey with Eclipse Lighting and Grip has been about more than just providing equipment; it's been a journey of collaboration, creativity, and community-building. We are grateful for the trust and support of our clients and partners, without whom none of this would have been possible. As we continue to expand our services and navigate the ever-changing landscape of the entertainment industry, we remain committed to delivering top-tier lighting and grip solutions to support the creative visions of our clients.

We believe in the power of storytelling and the magic of filmmaking, and we look forward to sharing many more stories of inspiration, innovation, and success with you in the years to come. Thank you for being a part of our journey, and here's to the next exciting chapter!
